Thanks to @VDiaries_se for the heads up on this video from TV Guide Magazine! There has got to be one out there of Melinda’s hug from Paul!! Where is it!! LOL
Well, well. We have quite a bit of buzz about Spencer Locke’s role on The Vampire Diaries floating around on the Internet and Twittersphere since we posted about her casting the other day. So here we go. Both TV Guide Magazine and MTV’s Hollywood Crush has the scoop. Including a new episode title for what I belive will beEpisode 19. Check it out from Hollywood Crush!
Oh, Twitter, what did we used to do in the days before you existed in our lives? Thanks to a Hollywood Crush informant, we came across a juicy tweet from “Big Time Rush” star Spencer Locke today (it was posted March 1) that read: “packing for Atlanta, GA! so excited to be working on Vampire Diaries not so prepared for the freezing COLD!what to bring..what to bring..”Spencer has plenty on her plate these days — she recently appeared on “Cougar Town” and will be seen in the upcoming sci-fi horror flick “Resident Evil: Afterlife” — so we just knew whatever was bringing her to Mystic Falls had to be pretty worth it. Here’s what we know so far: A rep for the CW series confirmed to us that Spencer will be featured in an upcoming episode titled “Miss Mystic Falls” and her character’s name is Amber.
From our quick “Vampire Diaries” research, we can’t seem to find a trace of that name in the book series, which means she’s another genius creation from the minds of exec producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. We have a feeling she may be working closely with Malese Jow, who plays feisty vampire Anna, as she tweeted a picture of her and Spencer yesterday along with this note: “Proceed extensive assemblage”! hottest new crew around! Taking over HOTlanta! http://twitpic.com/179×6f.”
Perhaps the episode title suggests they’ll also be a beauty pageant? If that’s the case, then may the best giril win!

A couple of months ago, I approached Melinda @paulwesleylover about being our correspondent for the PaleyFest. She had mentioned to us on Twitter that she was going, and happily agreed. Little did we know, that she would be the talk of the whole night! She had quite an experience and agreed to share her story with us. Even Julie Plec mentioned on twitter how Melinda was the “highlight of the evening” and that Paul was still talking about it afterwards. Check out her story below and thanks to @CW_VampDiaries, @BonesFan021 and @Naira_Robsten for capturing her moment!
Melinda’s Story
March 6, 2010 will forever be etched into my memory because this was the day that my dreams came true.
I walked up to the Saban Theater on Wilshire Blvd at 9:30 a.m. ready to see the cast of The Vampire Diaries later that day at Paleyfest even though the show did not start until 7:00 p.m. I did not care that it began raining buckets; I was on a mission…..to see and get a picture with Paul Wesley. I had bought my ticket back in January and was utterly excited that in 9 hours I would be looking into the eyes of the most gorgeous man alive. I was fourth in line behind some veteran Paleyfest attendees. One lady heard me talking about Paul and how I wanted to get a picture with him and what she said to me made my heart sink. She told me that at this theater the stage was higher and that pictures were impossible. I wanted to cry right then and there in the rain. So, I was trying to resign myself to the fact that an autograph was going to be the only “gift” I would leave Paley with.
At least while I braved the rain and cold outside, I met some amazing Vampire Diaries fanatics. One of the fans I met (@Naira_Robsten) got there right after me. We “met” on Twitter and decided that since we would both be there, it would be nice to actually meet face to face. She is amazing and sweet! Another Vampire Diaries fan also showed up (@BonesFan021) and we all got to know each other and shared our love of TVD. We all huddled together when the cold rain and wind lapped at our faces and bodies making us all feel like frozen popsicles. Luckily, the day flew by since we all had such great company! I truly love Twitter for bringing me together with members of my Vampire Diaries family.
At 5:40, we were allowed inside and you could feel the Vampire buzz really begin to build. I raced down to grab my seat…3rd row aisle seat so that I had a better shot at getting an autograph. I was now watching the clock for the final countdown. It was finally 6:45…..15 minutes to the start of the show….and I began to shake with anticipation. I could not hold my hands still long enough to hold my phone in my hand to send tweets. 10 minutes….5 minutes….my body started shaking and my friend put her hand on mine and said for me to take a deep breath. The show started with a Paley intro and a viewing of the entire episode of “A Few Good Men”. Can I just say WOW!! It was amazing and the previews for the rest of the season are mind blowing. The lights came on and I knew I was about to be graced with the magnificence of Paul Wesley. I nearly fainted when he walked onto the stage. I could not believe that he was more gorgeous in person than on the show…..I did not think it was possible to be THAT attractive. In a word, he is exquisite. They all sat down and the moderator began asking them questions. I, of course, put my camera up and started snapping pics of Paul and the cast…..well, mostly Paul All of a sudden, I saw in my camera that he was waving. I took my camera away from my face and he was waving at ME!!! He winked, pointed to my Team Stefan shirt and gave me a thumbs up. I was stunned. He had noticed me. Then, the questions from the mod ended and the floor was about to open for the fans to ask questions. I immediately threw my hand up in the air, possibly throwing my elbow out of whack with the force, and prayed that I would get called on. Prayer was answered. The mod picked me for the first question and I was given the microphone. With nervous hands, wobbly knees, and a lump in my throat, I stood up looking Mr. Wesley straight in the eyes. I had to get past my fear of public speaking and let Paul know that he is awesome! I first told the entire panel that they made Thursday night television good again…seriously, not since Seinfeld have I truly enjoyed television. Then, I turned to the audience and to the panel to let them know that if they wanted to follow me on Twitter, I am @paulwesleylover. Without hesitation, Paul responded with “really?” I told him yes and he said that he may just have to get a Twitter account just so he could follow me!! I also told him that since Stefan’s favorite show is Seinfeld that we belong with one another and he agreed. Paul, if you are reading this, give me a call…we need to set up our first date
Anyway, I then asked him if he ever got nervous while filming a scene….specifically the wonderful sex scene in “The Turning Point”. He said he was more nervous now. LOL! I let him know that if he felt like he did not get sufficient time to answer my question, that he was free to get my number after the show. Finally, I let him know that he has been blessed with the BEST. ABS. EVER. It was then that I was about to get the gift of a lifetime. He asked the mod if he could take off his mic to hug me. He jumped off the stage, grabbed me and gave me the biggest bear hug I have ever received. Then to top it off….to add the cherry and whip cream on top…….he KISSED me on the cheek and hand. But wait, it gets BETTER. He kissed me AGAIN!!! I am positive that I felt my heart skip about 1000 beats, jump out of my chest, and slam back beating a million miles an hour. I was beside myself with joy and shock. He made me happier than I have ever been in my entire life and I thank him so much for that. The one thing I do know about that night is that I got a little piece of Heaven and his name is Paul Wesley.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a tweet from Spencer Locke that she was heading to Atlanta to be on The Vampire Diaries. And then Malese Jow tweeted this. I’ve searched high and low for any casting news and I haven’t found it yet. Maybe someone can shed some light for me? I might just tweet her and ask her myself. Here’s her IMDB profile and a short bio from TV.com.
At a young age, Spencer Locke already seems to have a bright future. She went to Hollywood with a manager at age 11 and landed her first gig as a guest star on Without a Trace in 2004. Although she is a sweet and cheerful person, she has been known to play sassy popular girls such as Bitsy on Ned’s Defied School Survival Guide and Candita on Phil of the Future. She is probably best known as the former girlfriend of the loveable Jacob Smith. One of her best known roles is that of K-Mart in the film Resident Evil: Extinction. She currently lives in California where she is managed and supported by the Lane Management Talent Agency. Spencer has appeared in the Kidz Bop commercials and is breaking out as a talented young actress that deserves a second thought.
UPDATE: Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we have the following info on Spencer Locke, it appears her role on The Vampire Diaries will be guest starring.
Actress Spencer Locke has been cast in a guest spot on the CW’s “Vampire Diaries.”

This article from William Keck of TV Guide Magazine is one of many circulating the net from the Paley Fest. But here, Keck addresses the cliffhangers we were left with in the last episode, Elena’s search for her mother, and where our favorite witch Bonnie will be.
Many of the cliffhangers fans were left with when the last original episode aired will be addressed on March 25, when the next original episode, titled “A Few Good Men,” airs. Paley guests were treated to an advance screening of the episode, which (trust us) takes Damon’s cruelty to a whole new level. By the end of the hour, you’ll be left wondering how Elena can ever even speak to him again. “Some truths are revealed and the episode ends on a major bang,” teases Paul Wesley (Stefan). He’s not kidding.
With Elena (Nina Dobrev) just having learned she’s adopted, she begins a dangerous search for her birth mother, whom keen viewers know shares a connection to Alaric Saltzman. The revelations, says Nina Dobrev (Elena) will “intensify her love/hate relationship with Damon. His actions to achieve what he wants are truly horrible.”
But the episode offers more light-hearted moments, as Damon takes part in a charity bachelor auction alongside Alaric. “It’s a lot of fun,” teases Ian Somerhalder (Damon). A future episode will find Damon meeting up with Matt’s mom, Kelly (The O.C.’s Melinda Clarke) at a bar. “Much to the chagrin of Matt,” Somerhalder says. “They hit it off and end up hooking up.”
One face was absent from the episode — Katerina Graham, who plays Bonnie Bennett. She’ll be off the canvas for three episodes “grieving the death of Grams”, explains creator Kevin Williamson. “She goes off to stay with family, but comes back with an attitude.”
Adds co-executive producer Julie Plec: “Bonnie’s been nothing but supportive of Elena’s relationship with Stefan up until this point, but given everything that’s happened — the tomb didn’t quite get closed and Grams died for nothing, it’s going to be difficult for her to be a good friend.”
SPOILER ALERT! Here’s an exclusive first look from EW! Damon and Kelly Donovan, aka Matt’s mom who is portrayed by Melinda Clarke from the March 25th episode A Few Good Men. And below, Julie Plec sheds some light on their “hook up”.
he Vampire Diaries‘ brooding bloodsucker Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is in for one hell of a tasty treat when The O.C.’s Melinda Clarke blows into Mystic Falls as Matt’s hard-partying, absentee mother, Kelly, on March 25. “The two of them hit it off instantly and form a bond that results in some hard-core flirtin’ and sexin’,” coos exec producer Julie Plec, who notes that “Damon isn’t just about the high school girls. He’s a worldly guy, so watching him sex it up with a real woman was very exciting.”

Ausiello has a recap up from Entertainment Weekly intern, Vlada Gelman, who covered the Paley Fest for The Ausiello Files. Check it out! Be warned….full of spoilers, because as many of you have already heard, the entire audience was fortunate enough to get a special viewing of the March 25th episode last night! Thanks to sweet Amanda (@amandatran8) for the tip this morning! Check it out! Also included a great pic of our awesome executive producers and writers!
Spoiler Alert: Fans were treated to the next new episode, “A Few Good Men,” airing March 25. O.C. grad Melinda Clarke makes her debut as Matt’s mom and she doesn’t hide her disdain for Matt’s “rebound girl” Caroline. Elsewhere, Damon gets sucked into a bachelor auction with the Real Housewives of Mystic Falls. The showdown between Damon and Alaric reaches a crescendo at the auction as the truth about Damon’s involvement in Isabel’s death comes out. Meanwhile, Alaric and Jenna grow closer, but the whole “your dead wife is the mother of my adopted niece” thing throws a wrench into their budding romance. As Elena grows closer to the truth about her mother, look for flashbacks to shed light on Isabel and Alaric’s ring as well as introduce two mysterious new figures. We also haven’t seen the last of Anna and her mother Pearl.
More Spoilers: As if getting an early look at the next episode wasn’t enough, the producers also brought along a trailer featuring scenes from several upcoming episodes. The highlights: Stefan gets taken by some revenge seekers; Damon and Matt’s mom get very close; and some random stranger calls Elena “Katherine.”
